Multi-Domain
Run your shop on more than one domain. Each alternate domain can either serve the same site or 301-redirect to your primary.
When to Add an Alternate Domain
Add alternate domains when you want to capture multiple brand variations (e.g. yourdiveshop.com and yourdiveshop.ca), keep a legacy domain after rebranding, or run a second public-facing hostname against the same shop. Manage your domains under Admin → Configuration → Domains.
Serve vs Redirect
Each alternate domain has a mode:
- Serve — The domain shows the same site as your primary. Customers can land on either hostname and stay there.
- Redirect — Requests are 301-redirected to the matching path on your primary domain. Useful for legacy or vanity domains where you want a single canonical URL.
You can change the mode at any time from the Domains panel.
Pricing
Each alternate domain is billed as a $5/month add-on. The charge is itemized on your invoice and is added or removed automatically when you add or delete a domain — no manual toggling required.
Primary Domain & Email From-Address
One domain is always marked as primary. The primary domain is the canonical hostname for your shop, the target for redirects from alternate domains, and the suffix used in the “From” address on outgoing email.
If you change which domain is primary, the From-address suffix changes with it. The local part (the text before the @) is preserved, but make sure the new domain's mail records are configured to deliver from your provider before promoting — otherwise outgoing emails may be rejected or land in spam.
DNS Setup
When you add an alternate domain, the Domains panel shows the DNS records you need to publish at your registrar. Once the records resolve, the platform automatically provisions SSL. The Status column reflects whether the domain is fully configured, partially configured, or pending.
